The creation of the association of the ''House of Poetry'' was announced on April 8, 1996 in an announcement signed by the poets Mohammed Ben Talha, Mohammed Bennis, Salah Boussrif and Hassan Najmi. Founding meeting on Decembre 21st of the same year. Its administrative council was active after the renewal of its board on April 8, 2001.
